Okonomi-mura

For lunch, wifey chose a destination that she was sure Hubby would enjoy.  (in fact, earlier in the day at the food festival, she had kindly-suggested that he not choose to eat at a particular vendor because they seemed to be serving what she knew to be the special lunch destination surprise).

We followed our GPS until we arrived.  At first, we had some trouble figuring out that the subtle doorway pictured below was our destination.  Once we did, we found parking for our bikes and began to explore and choose a vendor.  Note that while I have linked above a description of the various vendor options above ... we found that link while writing this blog so we basically were choosing which Japanese Hibachi-looking table we wanted to eat at based on zero data.

Inside, you enter a glass door ..

We walked around a bit until deciding on a particular table.  In retrospect, we realize we made that decision based on the appetizing appearance of the sauce on top of the dishes other patrons were eating at the time.

Apparently the noodle you chose for your Okonomi-mura is important ... at least to the folks that market and sell noodles.

A panorama of our restaurant stall. This was after our seat-neighbors had just left.  Thanks to the two lovely ladies who were eating here when we arrived and whose food promoted us to stop and try this particular location.
The following are step by step photos of the making of the Okonomi-mura:

The dish begins with a pancake or crepe like dough.  As best we can tell.

Adding cabbage
+ Bean Sprouts

Pork, Shrimp, and Fish on top
The pile of yummyness is flipped and eggs cracked nearby
The pile of yummyness is added to the eggs, and a sauce added on top.

Our Place Setting!  READY!
And Wifey Digs In!
Lunch is Served!

We greatly enjoyed our meal.  See below the aftermath!
