On Day 4 in Japan .... we traveled. We enjoyed a yummy American breakfast before leaving our hotel and then walked to the subway station (not pictured).
We caught a VERY FULL train on stop to another VERY FULL train to at least reach the JR Line!
The Japan Rail line goes all over the country and we have 7 day passes which allow us unlimited use. We'll probably only use them twice though ... once traveling TO Hiroshima from Tokyo and another time on the return trip.
Woo Hoo ... we are figuring things out ... while hauling luggage through the train station!
Love this pic that hubby took of me!
Due to timing, we had about an hour to wait for our JR train to depart. We took this opportunity to people watch a bit from a second floor Starbucks. The station was a flurry of activity the whole time we waited.

Our reserved seats were in Car #7!
Here's all our luggage queued up and ready to board!
And again ... luggage safely stored in the overhead bins of the train:

This train stops at Hiroshima!!!
Funny sign at the first rental car office we visited.
The FANTASTIC staff at Budget rental car, Hiroshima. Who did NOT speak English. We used google translate on Wifey's phone and several passes of google translate on the staff computer and then printed out to find our missing reservation and get into a car. It seems that our car was supposed to be picked up in Hiroshima, Japan ... USA. Still not sure what that's all about.
Directing us into traffic in our snazzy Prius!
Parking across town was QUITE the experience. It involved a .... cart deal which stores the car.
And a lazy susan which spins the car around! Videos to follow in a subsequent post!
We learned a thing or two about Japanese GPS's and eventually checked into our
Room 1617 .... we're going to have a great view of the city from here!
