Travel Day 1

We flew out bright and early headed towards Jackson, WY!

After picking up our rental car for the trip; our next stop was at Teton Backcountry Rentals to rent Bear Spray for our trip.  We have some hiking planned and want to be wise!

We also made as stop by Albertsons and picked up groceries for the next week or so!

In addition, we stopped in a local UPS store to pick up a shipment from www.borrowlenses.com.  Since we expect to see many unique wildlife specimens on our trip, we decided a super-telephoto option was warranted.   The pick-up went fairly smooth, though there was an unexpected $10 charge for using UPS pickup vs. shipping to a personal address.  The proximity of our trip to the Labor Day holiday caused issues with shipment timing etc unless we wanted to pay for an additional 5 days of rental.  We did not.

Thank you to Hubby for figuring out the special tripod head and attachments that allow such an awesomely intense lens to be used!

Thereafter we continued to our new home-base in Victor, ID.  Victor is about 45 minutes west of Jackson, WY across a mountain pass.  Thank you to Hubby for figuring out the special tripod head and attachments that allow such an awesomely intense lens to be used!

Lunch/Dinner was at a local establishment, Big Hole BBQ after several attempts.  Apparently Wednesday afternoons around 2:00 pm are not a great time to be seeking a restaurant in Victor, ID!

Apparently pictures of our food were not captured.  It was unremarkable.

The Pro Photos

We had a great cruise on Independence of the Seas February 7-11 2022.  The posts about this trip are here:

Disembarkation and Return Home

We disembarked pretty early Friday morning with all our belongings!

We made it onto our GoPort transfer back to the airport.  We did have to wait a bit for it to arrive, but it was MUCH cheaper than an Uber.  If you're traveling to the port the morning of embarkation or to the airport the morning of disembarkation, we'd highly recommend.  They do not offer night-before embarkation transfers.

our plane?  I guess?

I have no idea what went wrong ... but this was clearly a bad travel day :)

Again - IDK what's wrong ... but I'm guessing AA did it :)

Judging by the previous photos, I'm guessing we're excited here because we made it onto our plane?

Sorry guys - I really shouldn't wait until 2 months after a trip to blog it!

Independence of the Seas - A Hodgepodge

Skypad has a VR option where you can jump on a bungee connected trampoline wearing VR classes.  We did it.  It wasn't great.

We watched an ice skating show one night ... and Wifey ice skated a couple of times during free skate hours.

We visited Cafe Promenade for coffee ... often!

We ate food.  So much food.

Magnets make great clothes hangers for some natural drying in the balcony breeze!

We played put-put at sea.  This was probably the second most fun Wifey had on the trip.  Second to the snorkeling.

We watched Encanto by the pool one afternoon.  Happy to see it but would not recommend the venue.  It was difficult to hear (though captions were provided) and pretty cold.

The running track was so-so.  But it did its job.

So many masks and lanyards.  #CovidTravel  But our magnetic hooks were live savors for organization!

Our last sunset of the cruise!
