Honeymoon Day 3, Part 1

We chose to take a double decker tour bus of the city of Paris.  This came with headphones which explained the history and significance of the areas we visited as we drove and then had multiple stops where you could get off, walk around, visit the sites, and then catch the next bus 20 minutes later.  

Le Open Tour:

Our first chance to disembark was at Cathedral Notre Dame.  We both really enjoyed seeing this church and had the opportunity to walk through it and view stunning architecture, artwork, and well as listen to beautiful organ music.  

After Notre Dame we visited a garden which included this Bee Keeping display ... photographed for you, Dad! 

Here, we reached the top of the labyrinth and found a ledge to take a remote control selfie.  Hubby was intrigued when our bus tour mentioned the labyrinth, and disappointed when it was really a small spirally section of the garden.  We had fun despite not having an opportunity to be lost.

After our detour down Ferris wheel lane ... we visited another iconic site ... the Arc de Triomphe.

Honeymoon Day 2, Part 2

Choosing a location for our first real Paris outing proved to be a challange - it was pretty late, we didn't have an idea of the area around our hotel yet, nor what we wanted to eat.  Eventually we settled on an adorable little care with sidewalk seating and settled in to read google translate the menu.  

We knew we'd ordered something scary when we were greeted with this collection of torture devices silverware.

Wifey ordered something since-able for her main course:  Chicken and mushroom sauce.

Hubby did not ... Muscles!

But ... they were good ... and in typical Werdehausen fashion ... we both ate half of each others food anyway!  :) 

Honeymoon Day 2, Part 1

Our international flight was only about 8 hours, and flew by for one of us and was insufferable for the other.  We plead the fifth as to who is who!

We had to delay slightly for a remote control selfie ... in Paris! 

 We bought tickets on the RoissyBus to transfer from the airport to the city center.  GREAT Decision.

On the bus, hubby got a bit hungry ... and was thrilled to discover stuff shelled that wifey had cooked before we left.  Nothing like left-over italian food for your first meal in France!

Sadly, after a wonderful bus ride, we still had a .6 mile walk to the hotel.  Poor Hubby carried far more than his fair share of the weight on this walk!

Honeymoon Day 1

Once upon a time, Hubby and Wifey were well rested and eager to begin they Honeymoon Phase One! 

In a logical decision that would come to haunt them for at least hours to come, their tripod was not carried on this trip, and the resulting image is one example of the result:

Hubby enjoyed the massage chairs while wifey's nails were updated during the layover that seemed to never end!

In what would also become a theme of the trip ... a multi-hour search for dinner ensues.

 We looked left and found a hungry hippo!

Two suitcases at one time .... need food!

And at long last ... we found MCDONALDS!!!!!   

Our midnight flight to Paris departed around 2:15 am ....

And we were SO EXCITED to finally be en route~

On The Road Again

Picnic

About a week after our wedding, we had the opportunity to visit Hubby's hometown for the annual Catholic parish picnic, to attend a cousins wedding shower, and have our mechanic brother help a newly married couple out with their broken lawnmower!  Makes for a busy 2 days!

For our readers who didn't grow up around the catholic parish tradition of Parish picnics .... you are missing out!   The food is amazing, and the scope of this event is incredible.

Thousands of people gathered around the Parish hall for this year's picnic.
